Wednesday was the mid-week rest day with an optional easy spin ride, and I took the chance to visit the city of Palma.

Going to Palma, you have to visit the Cathedral:

Palma is an historic city with lots of interesting area to visit, but the touristic area is way over-developed, so it loses it’s charm. Still, definitely worth a visit.

Beyond Palma, driving around the island is very pleasurable, and each town in the island offers a new perspective, and it’s amazing to walk around in an old town square where seemingly the passage of time stops.

One such town is Petra, birthplace of Spanish missionary Junipero Serra, founder of California.

Like most, has a very charming town square where you can stop and enjoy a drink and then walk around the surrounding streets, where the medieval atmosphere is everywhere.

After the quick Tour of the island, it was time to get back to Reads hotel, a very charming hotel outside Palme, where the focus is peace and quiet. This hotel has a main building, surrounded by smaller buildings where ground level rooms with terrace are located, and the main coutryard, which serves as Trek Travel cycling ride camp headquarters.

At the end of the day, it was time for a quick and easy spin ride, just to warm up the legs for the following day.

Looming in the next day was a long (80 miles) ride with almost 10k ft of climbing… that’s going to be a massive day of cycling Smile
